Studio

Being a music educator, one of the topics of discussion that comes up between my colleagues and I regularly is how do we help our students grow as musicians and become more technically skilled at their instruments? Taking private lessons is always one of the first solutions we come up with.

Private lessons allow for students to work with someone who specializes on their own instrument in a one-on-one setting. Students receive the guidance they need in an individualized lesson plan based on each individual students. The fastest growth I ever experienced in my studies on bassoon, saxophone, and clarinet was the first semester I took private lessons on each instrument.

Local Lessons

Private lessons are offered for Bassoon, Saxophone, and Clarinet. Being a Woodwind Doubler, I also offer “Switching Instruments” lessons for the musician interested in learning how to play a second (or third!) instrument.

Lesson plans are designed to fit the needs of each individual student, so a student’s first lesson is more diagnostic. Because of this, YOUR FIRST LESSON IS FREE!

Lessons are scheduled to accomodate the schedules of the students and parents, so families are able to choose a lesson time and duration that works best for them.

*Currently, I am located in Laramie, Wyoming, but I will soon be moving to the Las Vegas area! Once my fiancé and I get settled in Las Vegas, I will start offering local lessons again!*

Skype Lessons

I grew up in rural areas that had limited access to private lessons instructors for my different instruments. Having gone to school in Wyoming, rural music education is very important to me. I student-taught in towns of 118 and 1100 people where people had to drive 30-45 miles just to get to the grocery store. Students in these areas deserve the opportunity to take private lessons just as much as students who live in cities and larger metro-areas. My last year at the University of Wyoming, I began to look into how to provide access to private lessons to rural students

Thanks to the Internet, I am able to offer lessons to any student who has access to a webcam, microphone, and stable Internet connection via Skype! Skype is a free online program that provides online messaging and video-chat services. There are other webchat services out there, but I have found Skype to be the best for Online Video Lessons.

Just like Local Lessons, Skype Lessons are offered for Bassoon, Saxophone, Clarinet, and Switching Instruments. Lesson Plans are individually designed to fit student needs, and YOUR FIRST LESSON IS FREE! Lessons are scheduled to accomodate the schedules of the students and parents, so families are able to choose a lesson time and duration that works best for them.
